NBC 7 Salute to Service: Lincoln Housing Military Give-a-Way- Nov 7 

This year’s Salute to Service Festival has been canceled out of an abundance of caution and in adherence to current government policies regarding COVID-19.

In honor of Veteran’s Day, the USS Midway Museum is proud to partner with NBC7 San Diego and Telemundo in assembling and passing out care packs to 100 local military families through Lincoln Military Housing.

The USS Midway invites these 100 families along with all military Veterans to join us onboard for Veterans Day to free admission to the museum.

Virtual Fleet Week: World of Warships – Nov 9

This Veterans Day, Midway will participate in the World of Warships Virtual Fleet Week to celebrate historic museum ships and to honor U.S. Navy veterans.

This virtual event will feature a mixture of historical footage along with exclusive in-game and CGI footage to recreate the atmosphere of a grand Fleet Week while also paying tribute to the U.S. Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard.

Midway Ship Historian, Karl will also be featured to share more about Midway Magic!

Free Admission for Active Duty & Veterans & Family – Nov 11

As a special thank you for your service to our nation, Active Duty Military and Veterans and up to two additional family members will receive free admission to the USS Midway Museum on November 11, 2020. Must present ID or proof of service at Midway’s Ticket Booth open daily from 10 am – 4 pm.

Fleet Week Boat Parade Viewing – Nov 11, 10 am

Come view the Veterans Day Boat Parade as part of Fleet Week San Diego from the flight deck of the USS Midway!

The Fleet Week San Diego Boat Parade is a community event dedicated to honoring the men and women of our military, past and present.  The Parade starts at 10 am and is expected to pass by the Midway at approximately 12 pm!

Destination Midway w/ Historian, Karl – Nov 11, 12:30 pm

Explore historic topics with Midway’s Ship Historian and bonafide history expert, Karl Zingheim in our new live lecture series, DESTINATION: MIDWAY.

In celebration of Veterans Day and the 75^th anniversary of the end of World War II, Karl will be interviewing four WWII veterans. US Navy Leap Frogs Skydive Demonstration – Nov 11, 10 am & 1 pm

Come aboard the USS Midway Museum to watch the U.S. Navy Parachute Team, the “Leap Frogs” perform an aerial skydive demonstration landing expertly on the flight deck.

Watch this amazing team show off their skills during two jumps on Veterans Day, 10 am and 1 pm.

Patriotic Art Exhibition by MMC (SW) Joseph A. Pisano – Nov 11

Join us on the hangar deck to enjoy a patriotically inspired art exhbit by U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Joe Pisano.  Chief Pisano’s art is considered “3D Industrial” and uses a variety of objects including drywall screws, dog tags and golf tees in the creation of his artwork.

BBQ on the Flight Deck- Nov 14 & 15 

Midway is happy to partner with local catering companies to bring BBQ to the flight deck! Join us onboard during the second weekend of November and you will be able to indulge in delicious food offerings available for purchase. Some menu items include pulled pork, ribs, chicken, coleslaw and more.

 This event is subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather.
